DJI Spark Drone Adventures // Eugene, Bend & Ashland Oregon

Back to prepping a TON of blogs, do you think I’ll ever be caught up? Nah probably not, but I’m getting closer and closer! I’ve had a lot of questions about my drones so I wanted to share just a little info! I primarily use a DJI Spark Drone, but I also own the DJI Phantom 3 4k which I use mostly for larger projects or windy situations. But all the photos below are with the little Spark. It is an entry level drone, so it’s tiny, it’s easy to fly and you can use either a remote control or your phone/ipad! This little drone has gone all over the place with me, it fits nicely in my backpack and is easy to carry onto airplanes! ((Do note you cannot check the lithium battery so careful if you have it in your checked bag)) There has been some recent changes in the world of drones you must know, you now need to register your drone with the FAA and have the registration ID printed right on your drone. I used my old school manual label maker to put the ID on it, so it looks all sorts of bad ass! I do know drones have a bit of a bad rap and can be somewhat controversial, but if you are cautious, courteous and careful you should be ok! Do stay away from large groups of people, airports, private properties, sporting events, most national parks, military bases, wildlife refuges, prisons and NEVER fly it near a wild fire!! You can download an app called B4U Fly that will look at your surroundings and tell you if you are in a safe area to fly, and do your research before taking off! Sure there are a ton of rules, but through flying drones I have gotten some gorgeous photos and challenged myself to try something super out of my comfort zone! They also take a mean foot selfie.
