Against all reason and common sense, I decided I had to photograph my best friend’s wedding in 2019. Not only was it an insane idea, it was one of the more nerve racking weddings I’ve ever photographed. Not because it was a crazy one or for any major reason but because I wanted everything about this day to be perfect. And I do have to say, it went amazingly well in my VERY biased opinion!
Hannah and Stephen are just the sweetest most amazing people I know and their families and friends are just the most delightful group of (sometimes crazy) people you could ever hope to be included into! Honestly it’s hard to describe this day, it was whimsical, hilarious, sweet, charming and so damn full of heart. Guests wore hats at the couple’s request, which added just the most amazing element to photos, dancing and the general vibe. The venue had a super charming 70s feel to it which merged perfectly with some of the more modern touches the couple brought to the day in the forms of uniquely designed flowers and chic as hell outfits! The officiant KILLED it with a ceremony with the perfect amount of touching sentiment and hilarious comments and the bride’s longtime friend made the cake by hand which had a secret compartment of sprinkles that poured out when they cut into it! There are just so many details, I could go on forever, but I’m just going to wrap it up and say I’m insanely honored to have photographed this wedding, I’m beyond elated to see how happy these two are together and I’m proud to say I only cried like 12 times shooting the wedding, only like 35 times editing it and only once writing this blog.
And a special thanks to Amanda and Caley who helped me photograph the day, I absolutely NEEDED a team to help me, and to Becky for being a great friend and amazing coordinator who kept the day going smoothly so I didn’t have to worry about a thing!
