Eugene Oregon Riverside Wedding // Laura & Chris // Kilts and Colors

Today’s blog is continuing the same trend of awesome weddings with fun unique touches! Let me start off by saying… kilts!! I had never photographed a wedding with kilts and I was overjoyed to see they were just as awesome, maybe even more than I had originally thought! They are incredibly detailed, have a very precise order and style of getting into the kilt properly and have a knife as an accessory! Honestly, what more could you ask for?! One thing I learned about the kilt is the pattern itself is called the kilt tartan which is similar to plaid. The kilt tartans define the family or clan that a person came from. The groom wore the tartan from the US Army which is green, blue and yellow predominantly. I could have asked a thousand more questions about kilts but of course it was a wedding day so we didn’t have the time…

While the groomsmen had their kilts, the bridesmaids each had a color which they matched their shoes, flowers and their umbrellas to. Since it was an October wedding we had a high chance of rain so the umbrellas were necessary, but ultimately we had just the nicest fall day without a single drop of rain!!

This colorful wedding was super fun, totally laidback and gave me my first opportunity to photograph someone in a kilt, so a super win in my book!!
