As we get closer and closer to Thanksgiving, I can’t help but be filled with a sense of gratitude for all the amazing clients I’ve had over these last few years. I knew when I was in high school back in Ashland, Oregon that I wanted to be a photographer and it wasn’t until about two years ago that I actually took the leap, really pushed myself and began to create a business for myself. I don’t know why it took me so long, that wasted time is something I look back on with regret, knowing I spent so many hours working towards goals I never really wanted. In retrospect, I was just afraid. I feared rejection and the lifestyle that could come with being a ‘struggling artist’. Eventually, with the help of my family and friends I’ve been able to dive into photography, invest time, money and sanity into something I am passionate about. Passionate might not be a strong enough word for what I feel. Being able to do what I love makes me jump out of bed in the morning, it makes me work long hours and struggle with a smile on my face to do the right thing and become the photographer I know I can be.
The support and love from my family is what pushed me to start my business and the support and trust from my clients has given me the confidence and drive to keep going. Those who trusted me with those first few shoots and those scary first few weddings will forever be in my heart, they gave me the strength to go on and to book more and to reach higher! Being a part of a couple’s wedding day and being trusted with those memories and the documentation of their experience is one of the most rewarding and amazing things I’ve ever experienced. I simply cannot thank each and every one of my clients enough, they have truly and fully changed my life.
