I’M GOING TO CREATIVELIVE – Sue Bryce 28 Days – Final Day

Just yesterday (Thursday, April 4th) I found out that I have been selected to be a member of the studio audience for Monday’s (April 8th) live broadcast of 28 Days With Sue, an online photography workshop centered around glamour photography, the photography business and the practice of posing women. This is HUGE for me, Sue Bryce has been an inspiration to me for as long as I have been interested in photography. Her style, her techniques and her attitude towards photography and women have shaped how I run my business and I take note from her every time I photograph women. She poses women carefully and purposefully to create gorgeous magazine inspired photographs showing them looking their absolute best. With her techniques and posing rules, little to no editing is needed because you are simply playing up the model/clients very best features and making her look fantastic in camera! This is something I strive for, I hope to learn as much as I can from her in order to make the wonderful people who step in front of my camera look like the most glamorous and beautiful version of themselves.

So, what will happen now, is I set off for Seattle very soon where the course is held in a super secret location. I will be there all day long and most likely vigorously taking notes of every single thing Sue says! The whole day will be broadcast online at the CreativeLive website where you can find out just exactly what I’m learning and if you watch carefully you may even see me in the audience or standing to asking Sue questions.

I will be sure to share some of the highlights of the day and some photos of the excitement once I return from Seattle!

In the mean time, check out this blog post from last year where I had my work critiqued by Sue Bryce herself at a photographer convention in Portland!

  • Karri Denise - Hi! I’m trying to apply for Sue’s CreativeLIVE in August, I was just wondering if you had any tips for getting your video picked! Also, I want to purchase some of her courses on CreativeLIVE, but I can’t afford all of them. Which one is the best one, do you think?ReplyCancel

  • Stevi Battleship Sayler - I actually didn’t have to submit a video, I just had to send in a paragraph instead. I’m not sure why they choose to do that instead. I just tried to be genuine yet silly and wrote about what it would mean to me. I’m not sure how much it helps, but I figured that they had to read through so many entries that something funny and silly might stand out. Also, if you purchase just one CL course, I would say look at what you specialize in, if it’s glamour go Sue all the way, if it’s weddings Sal Cincotta or Jasmine Star are amazing. I really think you can’t go wrong no matter what you pick but make sure the course outlines something you feel is your weakness. Make sure it challenges you!
