A few days ago I posted about my friend Jaci’s wedding in Ashland, Oregon. I had a blast at the wedding and spending time in my old stomping grounds. I lived in Ashland for a number of years, went to high school there and I try to visit every once in a while because it is truly a beautiful and fun place. This time, I took my boyfriend and we had plans to stay with friends for one night and get a hotel for the other two.
These are photos from the first morning in Ashland. Seriously.
We absolutely loved waking up to this view, I couldn’t have asked for a more amazing place to stay!
After a day of wedding related fun, picking flowers and walking around town, we went to check out the hotel I had booked right downtown. The Columia Hotel I had been told was nice, clean and comparable to any other Ashland hotels. Considering they charged the same as the others we figured it would be a great place to stay! I was wrong. The room was exactly that, one room with a bed, sink, closet and dresser. No view, no bathroom(we knew that going into it), no TV, no space, no nothing.
We weighed our options, and decided to deal with the $139 cancellation fee and beg our gracious hosts to take us in for two more nights. While I was embarrassed about booking such a subpar hotel, I was sooo happy to be able to stay longer with Mary & Scooter who completely saved our butts!
Honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect weekend of wedding fun, amazing conversations and quite literally the best view in the valley.
